Is
this race timed?
Yes and No, depending
on your registration. For the timed 5K ($25), there will be timing chips
available the day of the 5K for both walkers and runners. For those who
only want to participate in the run ($20), there will not be a timed
option.
Can you only RUN in the event? Nope, you can WALK! We <3
walkers too! We just want you to come and show your support for Driving
Jacks by participating. If you wanted to crawl to the finish line we
wouldn't care. ;)
I
can’t stay for the awards ceremony; can I still get my award? Yes, but due to the cost of
postage, the awards will not be mailed out. Perhaps you can have a
friend pick it up for you or you can come by the Driving Jacks office and it
will be there through the end of the spring semester only.
What
is the cost to register? $25 or $20.
$25
is for the TIMED 5K (Includes
t-shirt, goodie bag, timing chips, water stations, post-race food, and eligible for age group awards)
$20
is for the non-timed 5K (Includes t-shirt, goodie bag, water stations, post-race
food). Non-timed 5K participants are not eligible for
awards.
$20
for the Sleep In and Hit Snooze (includes t-shirt mailed to you)
Do
you accept credit cards?
Yes, for online
registration we do once the 2015 race opens up. Online registration ends at 12
am on Friday April 17th. You can register at the event, but we accept
cash only and the price goes up to $30.
I want to create a group for the Group Registration
Contest, what can we win?
We are changing it up
in 2015! Your group will win an award and your group name/organization
name will be added to the back of the 2016 race t-shirts for all
participants/volunteers. Get those group registrations in!
When
can I get my timing chip? The morning of the race they will
be available bright and early starting at 6 am.
Can
I exchange my shirt for a different size? Yes, only if we have extra in the
size you need the morning of the race.
Are
dogs allowed? No, sorry (but we do love
animals!)
Can
we register the day of the race?
Yes! We were once still are procrastinators so we
understand the need to come the day of the race. Cash only will be
accepted and the race fee will be $30. T-shirts are not guaranteed the
day of the race though (but we will most likely have them!).
Will
there be mile markers? Yes, every mile.
What about bad weather? The Driving Jacks 5K will happen
rain or shine, freezin' our buns off or sweatin' it out. Be there or be
square. :)
Will there be water stations? Yes! Two water stations
will be on the course, and one at the finish line.
Are
strollers allowed? Absolutely! Bring your
kiddos. We <3 babies! The only part of the course that is not
paved is the azalea trail portion, but even that has a gravel semi paved
section-which is fine for strollers. There are a few parts of the course
that have curbs, but we tried to make them minimal.
